On 2 September 2012 our team leaves South Africa to join others, from all over the world, in Jerusalem. After some orientation we shall be sent to our new homes (for three months) in the six EAPPI placements. EAPPI stands for “Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel”. That is exactly what we shall be doing – accompanying people in difficult and challenging circumstances.
We stand for and work towards a just peace in Palestine and Israel. We go to be eye witnesses, to share the stories we hear with people at home and around the world. We go to show compassion and to be available to listen to people who experience challenges. We believe in justice and we promote the equality of all human beings. We support the rights of the Palestinian people to international humanitarian law.
I invite you to follow my blog and to share the updates on information with people in your sphere of influence.
Pray for Team 45 – the EA’s (as we are known throughout the world) would appreciate your support.
